Nursery Bedding
Tips for Selecting Baby Nursery Bedding:
There is often the misconception that parents have to wait to find out if their baby is a boy or girl before planning for their bedding. As much as parents are always anxious in finding the best pattern, colors and design that corresponds to their baby’s gender, there are many bedding choices and even color design options that perfectly match both genders.
There is the tendency for parents to waste awful lot of time on unnecessary things in the course of the planning while overlooking some simple basic, but important facts about the precious ones we are seeking their interest. One important fact to realize is that babies spent most of their time in bed. It is therefore absolutely necessary that safety of our choice of bedding must be the number one concern.
Safety: One best way of ensuring safety is for parents to be in the child’s shoes. In other words parents must empathize with the baby’s safety. The simple reason is that babies can’t complain when they are feeling uncomfortable. Parents therefore have the responsibility to ensure that nursery beddings are comfortable, devoid of anything that can possibly cause suffocation. Loose items and many toys on the bed are not advisable. Light blankets are much preferred, as heavy blankets can cause breathing problems if overactive babies pull them over their face.
Other Essentials: Also, parents should plan to have as many cot sheets and soft blankets as possible. This is necessary so that the baby can be changed often. Cotton sheets are much preferred because of their absorption capability.
To emphasize the most important consideration of all, the baby cannot voice out when they’re feeling uncomfortable and therefore parents must seek the baby’s safety by providing the baby with soft but firm mattress, covered with a cotton crib sheet and tucked into a light warm blanket.
